NSAC 60-Sec Spot
For the schools participating in the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), teams of students had to create a fully-market-ready campaign for a client. In 2018, it was Ocean Spray, and part of the campaign involved creating a commercial for TV/internet. Of course, with a client whose chief product involved seasonal farming (which was over when the class started), much of the footage had to be found online. I led the team that brought the commercial below to life. I searched Youtube for videos, conceived and shot the non-found footage (except for one shot that I was in), chopped all the shots up, edited them together, created and ran nearly all of the motion graphics and effects, and forced people to do unspeakable things. Just kidding. Having typed that, I sincerely thank my teammates, advisors, and actors. I must thank and give credit to Lauren Blackard for recording and stitching the voice-over as well as helping me search YouTube for videos. Next, to Shelby Maiden, for letting us use her awesome voice. I thank and credit my best friend, Alex Street, for capturing the shot of me drinking the beverage, running the frame effect on Gabe (the skater), creating the 2D bar scene, and color grading all my footage. And finally, I thank Daria Greenlee for letting me use her for the stop-motion chalkboard shot. I barked a lot of orders. Lastly, I credit my online sources (via Youtube) for the footage I borrowed for educational purposes: Ocean Spray, BSGT2TREKFAN88, Delta Farmers Institute, mossman381, Red Bull, British Pathe, and Ratatat, for the catchy song "Loud Pipes."
